People could use bamboo as an alternative to wood to reduce deforestation which is a

factor of global warming. Deforestation happens when people cut own forests and when they cut trees down and don’t plant any back, we end up losing oxygen which gets taken out of our atmosphere. Bamboo could be used as floors in a household or on furniture that would usually be made out of wood to help prevent this. If people used bamboo, it would be a cheaper and more eco-friendly idea because bamboo grows back much faster than trees and when people cut down trees, they take years to grow back which makes us lose oxygen. Wood is harder to get than bamboo and bamboo is much easier to cut down because it is not as thick and its roots aren’t as deep as trees are. Some problems with bamboo are that cutting it down would ruin habitats for certain animals, like panda bears, and many people like “the look” of hard wood floors and wooden furniture over bamboo. Although bamboo is cheaper than wood many people who buy wooden products won’t want to change to using bamboo because many people aren’t used to the thought of bamboo furniture. Over all , if people used bamboo as an alternative to wood we could save the Earth from being deprived of the oxygen that we need and that will help stop global warming in the long run.

If everyone would use less air conditioning, then we would use less electricity and then we would use fewer factories. Using fewer factories means polluting the air less. Polluting the air is a cause for global warming. The benefits are, you save money and help stop global warming. Open windows and doors instead of turning the heat or air conditioning on. Opening windows and doors doesn’t cost anything, it’s easy and effective.

Reduce Garbage

Ways to reduce garbage include……………

To reduce the amount of garbage, everyone can help. If you buy packaged compacted items it would make your garbage 10% smaller. How is that good? Well if your garbage gets smaller than that makes the dump piles 10% smaller and that makes our world 10% of less pollution. Also another good way to reduce garbage would be compost piles. The way compost piles work is instead of burning trash, you would put all of the garbage in a plastic box with no bottom, and set it outside and wait for worms to come and decompose it. If we followed these rules then we would save 1,100 pounds of carbon dioxide a year and we would save $1000.00 a year as well.

Recycling

Recycling helps use fewer resources and decrease the amount of junk in the planet and the ocean. This helps save trees, plastic, and etc. By reusing products you can conserve trees (meaning more oxygen and less carbon) and by helping the planet. By making people recycle we can use Propaganda to scare people, bring recycling programs to cities and towns, and by using ads on the TV. By recycling you can also save money because you reuse some products that you buy again. The drawbacks of recycling are some people don’t recycle and some people don’t care about it.

We should lower our thermostats to reduce energy loss.

If should lower the carbon emissions which would make the air less polluted. When you do lower your thermostats will actually save money. The people might have a hard time getting used to doing this in the summer or winter or winter because of the weather (like snow, heat waves, or humidity). Also maybe when the people are not at home they can turn off there thermostats when they are not at there house which will also save you money.

We could all use hybrid cars to reduce pollution and the use of green house gases. But that would be really expensive, but the people who are fortunate enough to buy faster bicycles should buy these, when the car dealer shipments come in to sell the hybrids, the government could lower taxes so people could afford them. We could recycle car parts from cars that aren’t being used or in the junk yard and use the metal to make bicycles and skateboards and stuff that way we could get America back in shape and use the metal for energy efficient houses too! Instead of using the car to go a couple of blocks use the bicycle and don’t waste gas. If people refuse to use bicycles we could carpool to reduce gas use. If people decide not to do any of these things they can put bio-diesel gas in the gas stations. So we can use a renewable resource for gas instead of a not renewable resource. So we don’t harm the atmosphere. These are only some of the ways we can attempt to save our ozone layer.

The Solar House Position Statement

A solar house is a house powered by the sun’s energy. Its roofing is covered with solar panels which can power an entire house. A solar house is very environmentally friendly. It will lower the emission of greenhouse gases produced by houses. This means that each house can produce all of its own energy. It also means that houses do not need to use a lot of electricity from outside sources. If it happens to be a cloudy day, the solar energy in the house might need to be switched to electricity, which is still emitting greenhouse gases. Unfortunately, solar roofing and the entire process of installing it on every house would be extremely expensive. Also unfavorable would be how much money it costs which is about $27,000, and people may not be able to afford it. Solar power houses will provide less pollution, 100% natural energy, and each house will make its own energy. However solar power houses will make some power plant employees loose their jobs unless if it is cloudy then the house will be needed to switch to electricity, lower class may not be able to afford it, and for people that don’t care about the environment won’t want to buy it. Overall, a solar house’s help to the environment will outrun the cost of the electrical tax, so it’s a win-win situation because the environment is being saved and people will save money.

To save our environment we can stop pollution by making more Hybrid Cars and then lowering the price of the car because Hybrid Cars aren’t run off of gas so that means that they don’t set off pollution. There are some ups and downs in saving the pollution. Since hybrid cars don’t run off gas people don’t have to destroy the soil to make gas and when we destroy soil then we won’t have enough oxygen in the air to breathe so that would be destroying us the air and the environment. The Hybrid Cars would be too expensive for some people to afford especially since we are in such a bad economy. Plugging the Hybrid Car into a plug would be wasting too much energy in the world that it would be saving the environment from pollution but not by energy.

Have you ever wondered where oxygen comes from? It comes from trees. Thousands of trees are being cut down each day to be used for paper and other things people use. Trees are very important to people, they are our main oxygen source, and by cutting them down it limits our sources. Every time a tree is cut down, our oxygen level is decreasing while our carbon dioxide level is increasing. What is wrong with this picture? Well, that is why we are here to explain the problems and our solutions. We could hold fundraisers or make foundations in which for every dollar you pay, one tree is planted. We could map places where trees are scarce and explain to people which areas to plant them in. By starting these foundations, we can start a worldwide trend that sends a message to people about Global Warming and how we can help it. One problem is that it might be hard to start such complex organizations and we can’t promise anyone that these trees won’t be cut down again because we can’t restrict areas. Even if you don’t participate in these organizations, you can do your part by planting trees and other plants around the community. Trees are very important so please try to be courteous towards our main source of oxygen.

To prevent global warming, we should plant vegetation and trees around factories and other places that produce Carbon Dioxide. So like the plants take in CO and release oxygen decreasing the Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Putting plants around factories would not only make cities look prettier but they would eliminate smog over cities that make cities look unhealthy and dirty. One drawback is that it will be very expensive to keep people to take care of the plants and some kinds of plants are expensive. Another drawback is making sure the Carbon Dioxide released actually is absorbed by the plants. This is a good way to help the environment by putting plants and vegetation around factories to help control global warming.
